Emily used to own Metta Yoga in Altona until she decided to have a change of pace and move to the luscious Eltham bushland! Here’s some kind words some of her old students have to say:
“My first class was with Emily, and I was so blessed to be her only student on that occasion. I knew from that moment, that Emily was not only an inspiring teacher, but a beautiful soul, who is totally committed and passionate about yoga, and its transformative potential. Emily inspired me, to start a Level 1 Teacher Training this year. The support and encouragement I have received from them all, has been phenomenal!!!! It has been an absolute privilege to feel so connected to the yoga community at Metta, that Emily created. From My Heart To Yours Emily.” - Louise N
“I found Emily to be an incredibly gifted teacher with an energy so grounded and quietly energising that it resonated with every person in the class in such a positive way.” - Kris F.
“Thank you for introducing me to yoga in a way that I can understand it and practice it with increasing confidence. As I’d mentioned, when I made my initial enquiry, I'd tried many times and failed miserably! However you made it a great experience for me.” – Lucia N
“Thank you for introducing me to yoga and sharing your space, a space where I felt like for that hour or so nothing else mattered in the world. Anything could be happening around me but all that mattered was the present moment.” – Lucy K
“It has been incredibly special to share the start of our yoga journey with you. The welcoming, supportive and fun environment you have created has not only kept me coming back, but provided a non-judgmental space where I can begin to let go of so many preconceptions and expectations that often get in the way in life. I have loved the flow of your classes with the reminders to listen to your body and a great balance of focus on physical technique and spirituality.” - Bronwyn
“When I first started at Metta Yoga about 12 months ago it was the first exercise I had engaged in after a knee reconstruction about 5 years earlier. I was feeling very self-conscious about starting anything again as I knew I would really have no strength or skill. A close friend had recommended I come to a Vinyasa class at Metta Yoga with her. I had practised Hatha yoga as a teen and really enjoyed it, but was looking for a more physical practice but in an environment that was nothing like a gym or competitive space. I wanted somewhere that people encouraged and supported one another and grew together and that is what I found at Metta, I would best describe it as being part of a family. Emily is such an inspiring and supportive teacher who has built such an incredible environment for people to grow in. She allows for self-growth and expression in her classes, there is never judgement and always so much support with a variety of levels all practising together. Although when I started I had very little strength or ability I never once felt foolish or self-conscious even as I fell in and out of "basic" poses and my constant struggle with Downward Dog. I have been able to feel myself grow in strength, ability and confidence. The positive energy in each class is exhilarating and I always leave my practices feeling whole, energised and nourished.” - Julia Q
"I would just like to say how fantastic the classes were, I have been to a few different yoga classes but this was by far the best." - Narelle R
“Emily, I could write a book about you, that's how much I love your teachings!!! To me Metta Yoga became my second most comfortable space from home. It is a space where you can leave your day behind and be comfortable to practice yoga at your pace, free of judgment, with a beautiful nurturing teacher. Metta Yoga has taught me yoga is more than physical postures and I continue to practice yoga each and every day in life. I learnt how to be a more patient, calm person with minimal anxiety and this is because Metta Yoga has taught me the biggest gift in life..... to just breathe xx” - Dragica N
